Natalie Portman was transformed when she wore the traditional makeup and costume of an ethnic Indian woman. This was for the set of her new movie called “New York I Love You.” She went through the transformation when her movie character attended a wedding ceremony in Brooklyn.

Natalie’s new movie was an anthology with several love stories set in New York. She played a Jewish bride. This was a role that Natalie could identify with. She was born in Israel and re-located to the US when she was 3 years old. Her former co-star in “The Other Boleyn Girl”, Scarlett Johansson, was a director for this new movie. Other celebrities in the cast included Kevin Bacon, Elijah Wood and Nick Nolte.

Madonna has released her new album called “Hard Candy.” She posed in one of her sexiest costumes and promised some good stuff in her album.

Madonna’s photos suggested that she was a champion with the winner’s belt. She wore boxing boots to kick some new moves into her album. Her spokeswoman explained that the album cover represented a joint combination of tough and sweet qualities. This was in line with the theme of “Hard Candy.”

Hard Candy would be released on April 29. This album had a collaboration in the production department. The efforts came from artistes like Pharrell Williams, Timbaland and Nate “Danja” Hills. Justin Timberlake also contributed one song.

All this talk of exposure and nudity on screen is being raised in several TV panel shows and also public meetings. Many feminists argue that women are unnecessarily being targeted. While the heroes can get away by showing their six pack abs and bare chests, women are targeted if they reveal even a small portion of their body.

The feminist groups argue that if men can show their body and get away with it then women should also be treated the same way. They should not be criticized for exposing.

The feminist groups say that women should have equal say in this issue as well. Women should not be degraded just because some of them are ready to expose on screen. Women also command the same respect as men and are equal to men in all aspects. This is what a majority of them have to say. So there should be new fundamental right- ‘Right To Equality in Exposing’.

New Delhi, March 15:: Celebrated cricket writer Peter Roebuck said the rise of limited overs captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni and his side marked the latest phase of India’s elevation in world cricket. Roebuck said Dhoni and his young team-mates heralded a new era for Indian cricket, which has emerged as a force which wanted to prove its worth.

“The first major stage was Sunil Gavaskar. He was seen as the voice of protest, ‘we will do it the Indian way.’ The next stage was Sachin Tendulkar, ‘I am comfortable with what I am.’ He is a great player who is graceful as well. The third phase was in Sydney Test with Dhoni, Irfan Pathan, Ishant Sharma and such people, who came from villages, backyards and outstations. It was an expression of democratic, passionate, committed and self-dependent India. It was a sense of true independence, not any protest against anybody,” Roebuck said.

The Australia-based Englishman said the Aussies and the Indians have a lot of things in common.

“They are rivals but also partners. They speak the same language.”

Roebuck, however, cautioned India against getting overboard in their celebrations and thereby losing the momentum for the future.

“The challenge before India is to sustain their success and maintain their long cricketing culture. There should not be any delirium and going overboard in success. No confident nation does that. Dhoni did not get carried away in Brisbane in tri-series final as he knew it was a matter of three balls.”

Making a passing remark on the Indian hockey team’s debacle in the Olympic qualifiers in Chile, Roebuck said Indian cricketers were looking forward to prove their worth in Australia.

“They thought ‘we expected the success, it was not a surprise.’ But the hockey team is not saying that yet.”

Roebuck said the media which went overboard about the Sydney controversy should show some restraint in handling contentious issues.

“Sydney got a little bit carried away. The media, including me, should have shown some control. We pick up stories and the 24 hour TV channels also have not helped. We should be careful in handling contentious and aggravated issues,” he added.

Angelina Jolie and her long-term partner Brad Pitt - whose relationship is rumored to be going through a rocky patch - are reportedly planning to travel to the African country to find a fourth disadvantaged child they can give a home to.

The couple - who are already adoptive parents to six-year-old Cambodian boy Maddox, Vietnamese son Pax Thien, three, and two-year-old Zahara, who was born in Ethiopia - believe another baby will strengthen their relationship and help Zahara feel more secure within the family.

A source close to the couple - who also have a 14-month-old biological daughter, Shiloh - told Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper: “Brad and Angelina have made no secret of the fact they are keen to extend their rainbow family.

“Angelina, in particular, feels very strongly that while Shiloh will grow up seeing the family resemblances between herself and her natural parents, and Maddox and Pax will have a connection through their birthplaces, Zahara has no such close-knit bond. Brad and Angelina hope that by finding a brother or sister for her, it will help Zahara feel more comfortable and happy in her own skin, and also bring them closer together.”

Cuttack: In a rare surgical feat, a dead embryo was successfully removed from the abdomen of a two-a-half-month-old boy by a team of doctors at S C B Medical College Hospital.

Hota said, “This cell accidentally entered the infant’s body while still inside the womb and started growing.” Born on December 23, 2007 at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district, the baby had a swollen abdomen since birth. Initially, doctors thought it was due to a benign tumour. But they were baffled when they found that it was an embryo.

New Delhi: A 10-year-old boy was burnt alive for demanding compensation from members of a wedding party who were travelling in a car that hit his bicycle. On Friday, the police suspected family rivalry behind the incident.

The incident occurred on Thursday evening in Sungapur village of Alipur area in north Delhi, when Sanjeev’s bicycle was hit by a Qualis car carrying the wedding party, according to villagers. The men were returning to Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, after attending a marriage. The boy too had attended that wedding.

When Sanjeev demanded that they pay for his damaged bicycle, the enraged men in the car first thrashed him and then dragged him 150-200 meters into a field.

The men, who were reportedly drunk, tied his legs and hands and then dumped the boy on a heap of cow-dung patties and set them all ablaze. The villagers spotted the flames and rushed to douse the fire.

They found the boy charred from his head to his ankles. Meanwhile, senior police officials said the boy was first strangled to death and it seems that in a bid to destroy evidence, the assailants torched him.

“Dragging the boy over 150 metres from the road to the field strongly suggests that an insider or people sharing enmity with him might be behind the act,” said a senior investigating official.

“We have registered a case of murder and have sent three teams to Meerut to locate the members of the wedding party. Five people have been detained and further investigations are under way,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police Dinesh Kumar.
