The first victim of the row between Kollywood and the Karnataka film industry over the Hogenekkal issue is the Dhanush-Nayanthara starrer “yaaradi Nee Mohini.”

The film was much hyped as it was the remake of Selvaraghavan’s hit telugu film “Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule” and was released soon after Dhanush’s super hit “pollathavan.” The film has been produced by Dhanush’s sister Vimala Geetha. It was released on April 04(the day the Tamil film industry went on a fast in Chennai), because of which the Karnataka distributor of the film refused to take delivery of the prints, causing a loss of Rs.25 lakh to the producer. The fact that Dhanush is the son-in-law of Rajnikanth only aggravated matters. When contacted, Dhanush’s father Director Kasthoori Raja, admitted to the tough situation but hoped that things will be amicably sorted out in a week’s time.

vijay1.jpg

Vijay is no fool when it comes to deciding what tom do next. He had a massive hit in Pokkiri and it is no wonder that he is trying to obtain the remake rights to ‘Bujjigadu Made in Chennai’, the Prabhas starrer film which is currently under production. There are many who know of Jagannath’s directorial sense so there are many vying for the rights. And the reason behind the actor’s  urge to remake the movie is its director  Puri Jagannath whose Pokkiri was a hit film for Vijay. But it looks like Vijay is leading the race and is all set to buy the remake rights to the movie.

After a long time a Hindi film is being remade in to south Indian languages. Normally  Hindi films with its emphasis on gloss cannot be remade, because it just does not go down well with the public. But the film Jab We Met which had Shahid Kapoor and Kareen Kapoor in the lead is being remade into Tamil by Moser Baer. News is out that Trisha and Dhanush will do the Tamil version while Ravi Teja will do it in Telugu. After a long time, a candy floss movie has gone down well with audiences everywhere in North India. That is probably the reason Moser Baer has decided to do it in all the four South Indian Languages.
